Practice Manager – Accountancy Firm
Location: South West London - Westminster and Clapham Junction
Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 + Bonus

We are working exclusively with a well-established and fast-growing accountancy practice to recruit a dynamic and experienced Practice Manager. This is a rare opportunity to join a thriving firm with a strong client base, spanning limited companies, sole traders, and high-net-worth individuals across a range of sectors including media, property, consultancy, hospitality, and professional services.
With two offices located in desirable South West London locations - Westminster and Clapham Junction, the practice supports over 450 limited companies and 600 individual clients. This senior leadership role is ideal for someone with strong operational management experience in a professional practice setting who thrives in a hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day operations across both offices, including staff, client workflows, and general administration

Handle client communications via email, phone, and in-person or virtual meetings

Oversee the preparation and review of statutory accounts and corporation tax returns

Lead both in-house and offshore PTE teams to ensure delivery targets are met

Conduct ad hoc reviews of VAT returns and support with light bookkeeping as needed

Manage self-assessment tax return processes and ensure efficient SATR workflow

Respond to HMRC correspondence, including LPCs, WWDs, and compliance checks
What We’re Looking For:

Broad general practice experience, including limited companies, sole traders, VAT, CIS, and personal tax

Proficiency in QuickBooks and Xero (essential)

Familiarity with TaxCalc (preferred but not essential)

Strong knowledge of self-assessment tax, particularly involving high-net-worth and non-domiciled individuals

Experience dealing with HMRC on various disclosures

Confident communicator – able to liaise professionally with high-calibre clients via email, phone, and face-to-face

Prior team leadership experience; able to train, mentor, and manage staff effectively

Highly organised, with a detail-oriented and proactive approach

A “can-do” attitude with a commitment to both client service and team collaboration
